We Are the Lucky Generation

HeoCoin Family · Published October 2026 · 2 min read

The other day, I read an article about the 8x Gen Y generation. It said that we're the generation stuck between aging parents and young kids, between responsibility and pressure, between the past and the future.

After reading it, I thought it was pretty true.

But then I thought, maybe my generation is actually a really lucky one.

I was born in a small village in the Northern Delta. My childhood didn't have the internet, smartphones, or AI. Summer days were spent running around outside, playing in the dirt and water, hanging out with the neighbor kids until it got dark.

Then I grew up.

I got to see the internet appear.

I watched those old 'brick' phones turn into smartphones.

I saw handwritten letters turn into emails.

I saw computers go from being super rare to something every family has.

And now, I'm living in the age of AI.

Looking back, it's actually pretty amazing.

In just one lifetime, I've gotten to go through so many different worlds.

From the countryside to the city.

From Vietnam to other countries.

From a time with no internet to a time where you can just ask AI and learn almost anything.

Some days I sit and code for HeoCoin, using AI to help write documents, check for bugs, and brainstorm ideas. Every time I finish a new feature, I still feel as happy as a kid who just finished building their first toy.

Almost 40 years old and I'm still excited to learn new things.

When I think about it, that's a real gift.

I don't think my generation is the most miserable one.

I think my generation is the one that's seen the most change.

The one that's lived in the most worlds.

The one that's gotten to experience the most versions of life.

If life is a journey, I feel like I've seen so many beautiful sights along the way.

And the best part is, I'm still exploring more.
